Inspired by the romantics of the Art Nouveau period and the conventions of Japanese Nihonga painting Kuri Huang has emerged as an original artist representing the exuberant energy of nature and the decorative symbolism of human and animal forms.
Born in Chengdu, China, Kuri is living her dream as a working artist in New York City. Her clients rely on her narrative and explosive compositions for book covers, games, posters, packaging, and product licensing as well as environmental graphics. Kuri loves to draw discovering new shapes and textures in the painterly tradition with a variety of materials and papers combining the natural flow of her subject matter into intricate digital paintings.
